Lioness Tamar - Founder & Director

Survivor-led. Culturally-rooted. Trauma-informed.

I am a lived-experience leader working at the intersection of gender and race equality. I founded 'The Lioness Circle' in Croydon and co-founded 'The Lioness Pride CIC' with my sister, Queen Jodi. I am the author of 'The Lioness Uncaged' and facilitated survivor-led storytelling through 'The Lioness Circle Anthology & Play'. As an IDVA and ISVA, I advocate for women survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence, particularly those of African and Caribbean heritage, and as a national trainer I work with SafeLives to support trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

Queen Jodi - Director

I co-founded 'The Lioness Pride CIC' with my sister Lioness Tamar because of my own lived experience and passion to empower more black families to thrive. I am also an award winning spoken word artist, plus size pageant queen model and NFT educator.

Shameika Byfield - Secretary

I have been apart of 'The Lioness Pride's journey from conception and I am humbled by the great work it has and continue to accomplish. Having now founded my accountancy firm, Shyfigures, I am a true testimony of the success of this organisation's empowerment.
